Need to Know
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU PROVIDE NUTRITIONAL ADVICE?
Absolutely. Nutrition is one of the core pillars to reaching any goal you have. I like to educate my clients on not only what to eat, but how to prioritize the very convoluted aspects of a proper diet. Prioritization, consistency, and discipline are crucial to following a diet plan successfully. I am NOT the type of trainer to just hand over a meal plan (outlining exactly what to eat), and hope for the best. If there is no understanding of why the meal plan is structured the way it is, often times the diet becomes short lived. After all, the more you understand the components of an adequate plan, the more choices and options you will have moving forward. And options are key when sticking to a diet long term and allowing yourself to not go insane! .
WHERE DO YOU TRAIN?
I train in some of the best training studios in Los Angeles, ranging from Calabasas to West Hollywood. When training with Alex P Fitness you can expect a level of privacy that most corporate gyms are not able to offer. I also do house calls! As long as you have the space, I will have the equipment to give you a kick ass work out. I am working on getting my own small studio soon!
HOW MANY DAYS PER WEEK ARE RECOMMENDED FOR TRAINING?
This greatly depends on the goal in mind and where you are starting from. Anyone seeking weight loss will often see outstanding results with a frequency of just twice a week. Clients looking to put on muscle should expect to train at least 3 days a week.
DO YOU PROVIDE EXERCISE PLANS?
Yes! However, I require a minimum of 3 in person training sessions before I send you on your own with your own exercise plan. This is for liability purposes. I would not feel comfortable giving someone a list of exercises before making sure they can properly perform them. Exercise plans can be updated upon request.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Experience and results are the most important things to look for when selecting a trainer. My prices reflect this, and can get as low as $80 per session and upwards of 150$ per session. I offer training packages that help with costs, but a commitment has to be made for this to be an option. Payments are non-refundable. Session packages are typically recommended based on the time allotted to reach the clients' goals. E.g. If your goal will realistically take half a year or more to accomplish, I will recommend a long term package rate. I generally try to be as competitive as possible without hurting my bottom line. It's not all about the money! .
HOW MANY CALORIES WILL I BURN IN A WORK OUT?
Assuming this question pertains to clients that are wishing to burn fat, I've had clients report a calorie burn of 500-600 calories on average. Obviously this greatly differs based on the individual and the goals in mind.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO REACH MY GOALS?
This is a hard question to answer, and I typically can't provide a solid answer without meeting the potential client and doing some evaluations. Ideally a client can lose 1-2 pounds per week for weight loss, and gain up to .5 pounds per week for weight gain. However, these are perfect conditions where instructions are followed to a T. Progress CAN happen faster than that, but it is not recommended. Any goal attempted should be done gradually and without haste.
DO YOU PROVIDE GROUP TRAINING?
Definitely! I can train up to 4 clients together but 2 is usually recommended with studio space in mind. Group training is a great way to lower the cost to the client as well. Each additional client only increases the price by my studio rental fee (anywhere from $15-20).
